Yet again - more time has passed

And I haven't written anything in a coon's age! *okay, how long exactly IS a coon's age? I could look it up but then that would rob you all of enlightening me and I wouldn't want to do that.*

So, how do I somehow condense the entire month of July and most of August? I'll try but it may be discombobulated. In no particular order, what we have been doing .....

* Visited friends in Lafayette and had a really good time. I believe Adam has written about it some and posted some pics in his blog.
* The girls (Sophie and Emme) took swimming lessons and Sophie is pretty much a fish now. Emme did pretty good for her first experience with swimming but we just really wanted her to become more comfortable in and around water. I would say that happened.
* Adam has started playing with the Big Band here in town. He is enjoying it (I think!) and they are playing at least once or twice a month.
* I have gotten myself a part-time job!! WOO! I have been bartending at Suzie's place and it has been so much fun!! It's usually just the same people that come in so I have gotten to know them and they feel comfortable with me now (I hope!). When I go in, I open at 3:00 and am there at least until 9:00 pm. Usually it's a bit longer but time really gets away from you when you are there. It's rather dark and cozy. I've done well on tips and it's nice to have some extra cash.
* Adam is also starting a Drumline at RO! We have been ebaying it to find some instruments and I believe we have most of what is needed. *notice I say WE as if I have some part of it -- but, it's FUN!* He has kids interested and the instruments so he is practicing on putting them together. The Drumline will make it's debut at the next home game which in on the 26th! COOL!
* Unfortunately for us - James and Anne have moved. James got offered a really good position in Hot Springs and took it!! Can't blame him for that but we really miss them a lot already! Of course, when things like this happen you start kicking yourself in the ass for not spending even MORE time with the two of them. *sigh* Adam has been really bummed about it and me too but especially him. He really thinks so highly of James and will miss his friend. They had grown really close and I hate that for him - for the both of them. Okay - I'm gonna stop! I'm depressing myself! Ugh!
* Sophie and Emme have started school! Emme was a little leary the first day and got a bit teary (as did Mommy!) but she was fine the second day. She just needed a little reassurance that I indeed was going to come back and pick her up! Sophie LOVES it and is really happy that she doesn't have to lay down for a nap anymore. My friend, Joanne is her teacher and that is going well! We are all fairly tired around early evening though. We have been getting up at the crack to get everyone ready to go and I've been taking the girls to school because a) I wanted to see Emme into her class and help with the transition and b) Adam has to get himself up and ready and into class so he needs help. I'm hoping that will end soon cause I'm TIRED!!
* Signed the girls (Sophie and Emme) up for dancing this year. THAT should be a hoot! Sophie took year before last but then wanted to do gymnastics so it's been awhile.
* Olivia is something else!! I know that is a broad statement but she really is. Her vocabulary is so advanced and she thinks she is 5 years old at least! She is so funny, too. She's got a bit of a short fuse at times but she is really such a sweetie. I'm so thankful for her *all of my girls, of course!*
* Sophie lost her two front teeth and the tooth fairy has been busy! She got a blank journal for one of her teeth and so she's writing a book. She's the author AND the illustrator - so she told us - and who knows? Maybe it'll be a best seller?
* Emme has grown by leaps and bounds! Lots of big happenings have been taking place and she's been rolling with the punches. She's still such a sweetheart - a bit tenderhearted at times but frankly, who isn't?

Alright - that's all I can think of at the moment. Here are a few pics of various things.

Hope to be able to write more often now since I only have one child with me in the morning - now THAT'S weird!
