Major Milestone
This past weekend, Adam and I took a leap of faith and crossed a major milestone. Big for us - fun for the girls.
Saturday afternoon, my brother called and talked to Adam for a bit and after he hung up, I asked what he said. He said that my brother asked if on Sunday he and his girlfriend could take the girls to the circus!! I said "All 3 girls? Surely, he just meant Sophie and Emme - right? Did he say all three?!?"
SO - sure enough, he and his girlfriend (Suzie) showed up around 1:00 and asked if the girls were ready to go. We had not told them where they were going to go - just that it was a surprise. He looked at Olivia who was still in her pj's and said "Is she going to get dressed? Can't she go, too?" I told him that it was up to them!
He then said that he would love to take them all if I thought she would be okay.
So, I got her dressed and took them out to the van and put them ALL in their carseats and handed the keys over to my brother!!
ALL OF MY BABIES!! ALL of them!!
Wow.
So, away they went!! And they had a BLAST!! Trey said that they were all great! Said Olivia sat in his or Suzie's lap the entire time. That she only got a little restless about 15 minutes before the end and then got up on his shoulder and fell asleep!!
Said Sophie and Emme were great, too!
WOW. Not that they were great because they are usually well behaved but that it was just done at all - it was "pulled off", so to speak.
They were gone a little over 2 hours so Adam and I went to Target and then to the local book fair that was going on. It was WEIRD but it was actually pretty nice. Different but GOOD!
That's the FIRST time all my kids have gone off with anyone and me not be with them, you know? Especially, letting someone else drive my kids. It wasn't that hard after the initial shock but weird nonetheless.
I would say that was a big milestone.
*of course, I forgot to send a camera with them - dang it!! Trey said that Sophie and Emme rode the elephant, too!! Said Emme never hesitated. Cool. They are still talking about it today.*
