Happenings

Summer is winding down. Seems as if we have been nonstop around here. A few highlights since I last posted are:

Zoe, our fish died. :(
She hung in there as long as she could but she died two days ago. We put her in a little box and Emme and Soph put a shell in there and we buried her in the back yard. Sophie got to carry her out there and put her in the ground. Then she said, "Zoe was a good fish and we had her a long time. She lived for a long time and we'll miss her. I just want to say ....goodbye" ... then she asked if any of us had anything to say.
After we buried her and Sophie scooped the dirt on top, we used another bigger shell as a marker. THEN, Sophie said "It's okay, Mommy. We can always get another fish." Lordy.... that girl is a sweetie.

Sophie went to cheerleading camp this past week. I'm not sure how I feel about cheerleading camp ... didn't then and I certainly don't now! I asked Sophie what they did each day and on two of the days they watched a movie!! WTH?? I mean she did say that they learned one new cheer and had a picture taken but she can watch a movie here, you know!??! That had to have been the majority of the time. Yesterday, she said they did coloring sheets?? Just what the hell is this!? PLUS - it pisses me off cause at the end of the day the cheerleaders hand out "spirit sticks" and gives them to the ones with the "most" spirit. So, I see Sophie there with her fingers crossed mouthing "oh please...please...please .."
She finally got one but geesh....how about setting in some competition between 4 and 5 year olds. Nice. That's just NOT RIGHT! They don't understand , you know?!!? However, she loved it and I'm glad cause we won't be going back next year.

We went to the circus one afternoon and it was REALLY good! It was the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey circus. The real deal. We had GREAT seats and there was lots of audience participation and the performers interacted with the audience tons.
The girls had a great time! After the shock of $10.00 cotton candy, Adam and I had a great time, too.

It is GORGEOUS this weekend! The weather is phenomenal and we were all gonna go on a family picnic today but unfortunately, Emme woke up this morning with a stomach bug. She has puked about 4 or 5 times this morning. She has had some phenergan now and is sleeping. So, Sophie, Adam, Olivia and my dad went on the picnic without us. Which is fine...Sophie was feeling really restless.

Other news is that Olivia has started taking STEPS!!! Little booger is gonna be walking very soon. The most she has taken is about 2 and then she will drop down and crawl. She's thinks she's something else though when she does. And lord help us when she does cause she is already into EVERYTHING!! I can't believe she is almost a year old already.

Sophie starts school in about a week!! WOW! We have been going up to the school to get Adam's room ready and the kids have gone with us each time. Sophie just loves being there and can hardly wait. I'm not sure how I'm gonna handle it though. It was hard enough just leaving her at the cheerleading camp and that was only 3 hours and 2 blocks away!! Yikes!!
I think that Emme is gonna enjoy the time for more attention though. She does miss Sophie when she is gone but she also likes to have more of Mommy. I think I'll like that too... :)

No more work for me for awhile. It was nice to get out of the house for a bit. I will admit, it wore me out some days but I'm glad I can still get out there and do something.

I have some pics to share and will get those up next time.
