Sophie's sleepover

Sophie is spending the night at my mom's house. It's been awhile since Mom has been in school so Sophie is very excited about it. She gets complete undivided attention from my mom plus she gets to eat what she wants, watch movies in bed with popcorn and have pancakes in the morning. Heaven for a 5 year old.

So, we go over there and Mom buys us all dinner and we eat and visit and such. Sophie asks me when we are leaving. HA! The time comes and we are gathering everything to go. Emme starts fussing and whining a bit. We ask her what's wrong and she says that she wants to sleep with Mommy. We tell her it's okay and that we are going home and she can sleep with us in the big bed. This seems to placate her for a little bit. We give hugs and kisses and are out the door.

We get in the car and Emme starts crying. I ask her what's wrong....

"I miss Sista. I wish she was not at honey's and she was coming home with us"

Awwwwwww. How damn sweet and sad is that?! What a lovey.

She misses Sophie and wants her at home with us. Can I soak this up a bit and pretend that they will miss each other and be as close as this when they are teens??

I can dream, right?
